Oscar Goldie Stephens, 76, of 4392 Tibbs Bridge Road, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1992, at 8:20 a.m. at Hamilton Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Bradley Stevens and Maude Holmes Stevens. Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Pettit Stephens of the residence; two sons and daughters-in-law, Winston and Linda Stephens of Dalton and Wendell and Edna Stephens of Lawrenceville; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joyce Pettit of Dalton; two sisters and brother-in-law, Ava Nell Serritt and Juanita and Jimmie Wilkie, all of Dalton; one brother, Herbert Stevens, Sr., of Georgetown, Ky; one aunt, Effie Moss of Dalton; five grandchildren, threestep-grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four step Great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Welcome Hill Baptist Church, 2740 Welcome Hill Circle, Dalton, GA. 30721.
