"Miss Ethel L. Woodyard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Woodyard, was born December 16, 1892, in Lodi township, Athens county, Ohio, and departed this life Aug. 16, 1913, aged 20 years and 8 months.
"She was united in marriage to Mr. Edgar Stanley, December 16, 1912. She was converted at Holiday church, December 9, 1908, and united with the Third Alexander Free Will Baptist church, February, 14, 1909 of which she remained a faithful Christian until death. She leaves a father, mother, three sisters, one brother and husband to mourn her loss. She was a kind obedient daughter, an affectionate sister and faithful wife.
"She had a smile and kind word for everyone and from this earth a tender bud has been taken and transplanted in God's sinless summer land. She has been taken in the springtime of life, but may we be comforted with the thought that she has escaped a world of sorrow and our Heavenly Father thought best to make her one of his saints.
"She was the sunlight of the home but God took her in her purity.
"But on the golden streets may be again meet our dear loved one, bright as a sunbeam, pure as the dew.
"She died at the Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Her dying words were "Tis sweet to die when Jesus is near." Her last words were: "Prepare to meet Jesus."
"There is no Death;
The stars go down, and
Bright in heaven's jeweled crown,
They shine forever more"
