Mrs. Dorothy Jean Weaver, age 83, of Rockmart, GA passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in a Rome medical center. She was born in Rockmart, GA on July 27, 1933 a daughter of the late Robert Lewis Clark and Bessie Mae Jackson Clark. Mrs. Weaver had lived all of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church. She had been employed by the Goodyear Mill, Integrated Mills and Cartersville Spinning prior to her retirement. Mrs. Weaver loved to go to church, spend time with her family, take trips to the mountains and work in the garden. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Shirley Tucker and Vera Jo Birdsong and by three brothers: Robert Leroy Clark, Curtis Lewis Clark and Tom Watson Clark. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Thomas Junior Weaver to whom she was married on November 12, 1954; three daughters: Debbie Hulsey (Ricky), Patsy Jarvis (John) and Brenda Lester (Donald) all of Rockmart; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Morning View Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hulsey, Rev. Bobby McDowell and Rev. Donald Lester officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Ricky Hulsey officiating. Mrs. Weaver will lie instate at the church from 1:00 pm until the service hour on Friday. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will include: Thomas Lester, Justin Lester, Devon Hopkins, Cody Hopkins, Jacob O'Neal, Zachary O'Neal and Edwin Jarrell. Honorary pallbearers will include: Dakota O.Neal, John Jarvis, Kenneth Lester, Tommy Clark, Gary Clark and Jason Hulsey.
