MAN KILLED NEAR TOODYAY Earth Mover Goes Over Embankment TOODYAY, Nov. 18.-Joseph Bovell, an employee of the Main Roads Department, was killed between 5 and 5.30 p.m. today when earth-moving equipment he was operating plunged over an embankment on the Toodyay-Bolgart road. There were no witnesses of the accident.
The dead man was found by a Mr. A. Waters, a nearby farmer, who was returning home from Toodyay. Bovell had been driving the machine, which is technically known as a No. 12 speed patrol and which is a large earth-mover. It had apparently dropped over the embankment, turned completely over and pinned the driver to the ground. Constable Leahy, a doctor and an ambulance were quickly on the scene, but Bovell was already dead. He is thought to have been killed instantly.
