Daughter of Samuel and Hannah (Tarr) Babson. She was born in Gloucester Massachusetts.

Married, first, Henry Haven, 23 December 1805. They had a daughter, Eliza Ann, who was married to William Henry Steele 23 August 1825. Her half-sister Mary Wells would name her first child for Eliza.

Married, as a widow, to Captain Robert Evans, a privateer and hero of the War of 1812. They married 11 April 1813.

They had daughters Harriet and Mary and sons James and George.

Son George was born 19 August 1813 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. [Massachusetts Town and Vital Records 1620 - 1988.]

Robert and Betsey Evans moved to Adams county Illinois with their children in 1835.

Betsey (Babson) Evans died at her home at Eighth and Hampshire in Quincy Illinois in 1855.
