Annette Tumlinson, age 93 was called home to her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2017. Annette resided at the Forum at Lincoln Heights at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Blakeway and by her parents Alfred and Berta Tumlinson. She is survived by her son and his wife, granddaughter and her husband and 2 great grandsons, 1 sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annette graduated from Carrizo Springs High School, and attended Texas A&I College in Kingsville where she was a member of Betta Gamma Sorority. During World War II she worked for Brown and Root at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, then U.S. Department of War at the Eagle Pass Army Air Field and finally U.S. Dept., of Justice at the Crystal City Internment Camp. She married her husband of 52 years in Carrizo Springs, Texas in 1947.

She was very proud to be a sixth generation Texan- her family originally immigrated to Texas in 1821 with Stephen F. Austin. She enjoyed her family, friends, politics and Texas history. She and her husband spent many happy days at the family ranch in Catarina, Texas. She was a member of the Windcrest Baptist Church, Descendants of Austin's Old Three Hundred, Alamo Mission Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Former Texas Rangers Association, Retired Border Patrol Officers Association and Burleson Family Association.
