Blacksburg, SC - - Sara Huskey Allen, 88, formerly of 1783 N. Mountain Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Mary Black Health System-Gaffney.
Born in Shelby, NC, she was the widow of the late Lawrence L. Allen and daughter of the late Franklin Ray Huskey and Sallie Black Huskey. She retired from banking and was a member of Mount Paran Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Dana L. Allen; a brother, Roger R. Huskey; two grandchildren, Heather Duncan and husband, Joseph, and David L. Allen; three great-grandchildren, Jace Duncan, Will Duncan and Paisley Allen. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur L. Huskey, Ray Eugene Huskey and Charles F. Huskey and four sisters, Lula Belle Griggs, Marie E. Jones, Genevieve Huskey and Peggy O’Neil Clary.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:00 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Mullinax officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
