Nicholas Engeldinger married Madeline Horras on Nov. 16, 1869. Keokuk Co., Iowa Marriage Index

Note: Wendell Horras and Elizabeth Ost Horras have been linked per suggestion by Dutch #49912538, as Magdalene's parents. AthoughI have been unable to firmly verify this information I am in agreement. I think this is likely true for these 3 reasons.

1. Her maiden name Horras in her 1869 marriage record. Magdalena is recorded as married to Nicholas Engeldinger at age 18 in 1870 U.S. Census.

2. Magdalene's name is oddly missing in the 1860 U.S. Census at age 8-9 with the rest of her Horras family. But NOT actually missing, I suspect her name was mistakenly put down as "Lehen" , a son, age 9. Also, Lehen??? cannot be accounted for anywhere other than the 1860 record.

3. Her Iowa place of birth and the year of birth (1852) fits in with the family's immigration from Germany in 1847. Older siblings were born in Prussia, younger ones after the year 1847 in Clear Creek Township, Keokuk County, Iowa.
