Betty Nedrow, 92, of Ashton, died April 5, 2017, at her home of natural causes. She was born November 16, 1924, in Warm River, Idaho to Henry and Ida Nelson Goebel. She attended elementary school in Warm River and graduated from Ashton High School in 1942.
She married Alwyn Nedrow on July 1, 1942 at Warm River. Three daughters were born to this union, Ann, Sharon and Gena.
After their marriage, Betty attended nursing school at Weiser Nursing School. She then moved to Oakland, California and worked for the phone company while Alwyn served in the Army during World War II. After the war they returned to Ashton where they farmed together on the family farm west of town. They enjoyed raising registered Quarter horses and rode in the local posse.
She raised flower and vegetable gardens and liked working in them.
She is survived by her daughters: Ann Nedrow and Gena Nedrow, both of Denver, CO, and Sharon (Syd) Cato, of Ashton; a granddaughter, Bonni (Aaren) Torrence, of ND; four great-grandchildren: Madison, Cruz, Kimber and Nova Ann; and sisters: Dorothy Nedrow, of Ashton, and Grace Esplin, of Goleta, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alwyn; brother, Edward "Bumps" Goebel; and sisters" Helen Clarke and Berniece Goebel.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
