AGE 85 YEARS

Aileen Bemis Crowley Of Falmouth, mother of nine, grandmother of 16, and great grandmother of three, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 of heart failure.

Aileen was married for 46 years to the late J. Walter Crowley Jr. Together, they raised their family in Arlington. The death of their son Edmond at age 6 made their family bonds even stronger. Aileen and Walter shared a deep respect and love for one another and a profound sense of gratitude for all God had given them.

Aileen and her siblings were born and raised in Swampscott by their loving parents, Rose and Edmond Bemis. Aileen graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn and from Emmanuel College in Boston.
She was the de facto manager of her husband's dental practice.

Aileen was pre-deceased by her daughter Aileen Yates who died in February. She was also pre-deceased by her brothers, John and Donald, and many beloved sisters- and brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her children and their families, J. Walter Crowley III, Thomas Crowley, Eleanor Hickey, William Crowley, Rosemary Hallahan, Elizabeth Crowley, and Joseph Crowley; her brother, Edmond Bemis; her sisters, Mary Bemis, Katherine Clancy, and Rosemond Gorrie.

Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
