Frances Abney Holloway was one of ten children (five boys and five girls)born to proud parents Ben Abney and Johnnie Brooks on June 9, 1924 in Saluda, South Carolina. Frances left Saluda and relocated to Washington, DC with her husband of 72 years, Zonnie Holloway, Sr. who passed away in 2013.
Frances a member of Southern Baptist Church in Northwest, Washington, DC passed on to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 2:20 a.m. at the Manor Care Home in Silver Springs, MD.
Frances worked many years as a home health care provider, giving love and comfort to many seniors. She also worked at the U.S. Post Office and Woodward and Lothrop Department Store. She enjoyed baking, gardening and working tirelessly during volunteer work.
She leaves in God's care to cherish her memory: two daughters, Mattie Gay (Billy) and Delois Huff (Donald); two sons, Zonnie Holloway, Jr. and Ronald Holloway, Sr. (Bernadette); seven grandchildren, Marjorie Gay, Tawanda Davis, Ronald Holloway, Jr. (Tanisha), LaJuan Huff, Tanya Geter (Tariehk), Trinita Muhammad (Ali) and Montoya Hernandez; seven great grandchildren, Kayla Jeter, Saabrirah, Nasira, and Kariym Muhammad, Amare Holloway and Tyler Holloway; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Woods and Vera Satterwhite (Henry); and a vast host of relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
