Marjorie H. Kerr died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at age 92. She was the daughter of Wray B. and Ruth M. Hoffman of Wallingford, Pennsylvania and spent most of her life in the nearby Media area. She graduated from Westtown School in 1940, and then attended a local business school to learn typing. She entered Guilford College in North Carolina, where she sang in the school’s chorus, played field hockey and was President of the Women’s Student Government. In 1941, she was named to the NC State Field Hockey Team. She graduated from Guilford in 1945. In 1950, Marjorie married Robert J. Kerr. They moved to Ohio while Bob completed his college education at the College of Wooster. Bob and Marjorie returned to Media in 1952.

Before moving to Ohio, Marjorie had worked for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). In 1973, she went back to AFSC to “help out,” finally retiring in 1993. Marjorie was a life member of the Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra. She and Bob appeared together in many Gilbert and Sullivan shows. She was also a member of the Players Club of Swarthmore, the Edgewold Civic Association, the Kerr Family Association of North America,
and the Seniors Group of Upper Providence. She was a member of Media Friends Meeting where she served on several committees, was co-editor of a Meeting newsletter for many years, and helped with the Homeless Feeding Program. She enjoyed music, reading, word games, and baseball, especially the Phillies.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert A. (Jo-Ann) of Wilmington, Delaware and David A.
