Agnes was born May 28th 1921 to William and Anne Bednar in Roslyn, Washington. She attended Roslyn schools and lived in Roslyn her whole life. She was the 7th of 8 children. As a youngster, she worked hard helping with cooking and chores for the family. She enjoyed growing up in an era where kids played kick the can in the street, baseball on the corner and where laughter drifted in the evening air.

Agnes met the love of her life, John Ferro while he was making milk deliveries to her family home. Agnes married John on January 17th, 1941. They were happily married for 73 years. They had 3 children, sons Del and Duane and daughter Susan. They were blessed with 7 grandchildren, 14 great grand children and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Agnes was a homemaker and worked in the Roslyn-Cle Elum school district as a cook for many years. She made wonderful lunches for hundreds of school children. Her homemade bread was a well known treat. Agnes was a lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Roslyn, Washington.

Agnes and John were always ready to lend a helping hand. They spent countless hours serving food, cleaning the church and cooking meals. They were happy to help wherever they were needed.

Agnes was crowned Pioneer Queen in 2001. She loved attending all of the Pioneer Days activities. She proudly wore her tiara whenever the Pioneer Queen made an appearance. She and John rode in many parades and enjoyed waving to the crowds.

While filming of Northern Exposure took place in Roslyn, Agnes and John were seen in many episodes as “extras”. Agnes volunteered at the Croatian picnic in Roslyn every year. She loved cooking and serving the food. But she especially loved the music and could be seen tapping her foot while serving or dancing along to the tune. She loved to dance with John and did so at every opportunity.

Agnes passed away peacefully in her home on May 1st, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anne Bednar, sisters Mary, Verna, Lilian, and Helen, brothers baby William and Albert and her beloved husband of 73 years, John.

Agnes is survived by son Del and Sharon Ferro, son Duane Ferro and daughter Susan and Ed Beedle, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and sister Lindy.
