Elizabeth "Beth" Mead
(December 11, 1942 - May 1, 2017)

Elizabeth (Beth) passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter and son-in-law in La Veta, Colorado, May 1, 2017. Elizabeth was born December 11, 1942, one of seven children to Samuel Leslie Ryan and Blanche Moffet in La Junta, CO. She married her sweetheart, Enoch Roland Mead III, on December 26, 1960. They are the parents to 5 children: Christal (Craig) of La Veta, CO, Enoch (deceased), Eric (Shawn) of Basalt, CO, Nicole (Jeff) of Owens Cross Roads, AL, and Erin (Joe) of Santo Domingo, DR. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, her son Enoch, her sisters Berniece Whitcomb, Hellen Greco, and Christine Witherow, brothers Dewey Wayne and Stanley, and a grandson, Ian Taggart. Beth is survived by her brother, Lee Wesley Ryan (June), sisters-in-law Vonnie Fagerstedt and Cindy Mead, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Beth was deeply spiritual, loved to laugh, and her sharp sense of humor was highly contagious to anyone within earshot. She had a quick wit and love of all things chocolate. Although she was wheelchair bound for the last several years of her life, she never complained and was a model of good cheer and indomitable spirit. The world is a little less funny, less generous and less loving with Beth’s passing, but there will be a little more fudge for the rest of you next Christmas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 6th at the LDS Lynnwood Chapel (1400 Lynnwood in Fort Collins) at 11:00, followed by internment at Grandview Cemetery.
