Edward was born Dec. 30, 1930, in New Oxford, the son of the late Charles A. and Corrine B. (Carbaugh) Shrader.
Edward was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford, a life member of the McSherrystown Fish & Game, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1948-1952.
In addition to his wife Mary, Edward is survived by a son Edward L. Shrader Jr and his wife Jackie of Hanover; a daughter Laura Jean Pope and her husband Rick of Hanover; four grandchildren, Joey Shrader, Brandon Shrader, Justin Schratwieser, and Jamie Anne Schratwieser; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lillian Miller and Dorothy Kress.
He was predeceased by one great-grandson Grayson Schratwieser; eight brothers, William, Charles, Francis, George, James, Joseph, Earl and Robert Shrader; and three sisters, Marie Leister, Corrine "Tiny" Smith, and Emma Livingston.
As Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St., New Oxford, with Rev. Charles Persing officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9-10:45 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home Inc., 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford.
