Mary G. Hoholick Bednar-czyk, 93, died Friday in Mount Airy, Md., at the home of her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph E. Bednarczyk, on July 30, 2001.

Mary was born in Simpson on April 17, 1914, daughter of the late John and Tekla Barna Hoholick, and was raised on her family's farm in Dundaff. Mary spent her married life in Dickson City, where, as a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, she was a founding member of the Christian Mothers organization and spent many hours quilting for the yearly quilt raffle and baking for the Monday bingo.

When she wasn't baking cookies, Mary loved to quilt and gifted her family with her creations. Cooking, baking and sewing were the ways that Mary showered her family with love.

She died peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Surviving are her children, Richard J. Bednarczyk and wife Marge, Scott Township; Sandra Bednarczyk Ballantine and husband, Lawrence, Mount Airy; and Donald Bednarczyk, Dickson City; her grandchildren, Kimberly Moher and husband, Kevin, Clarks Summit; Karen Cowan and husband, Scott, Florida; Kristen Schmidt and husband, Jonathan, Florida; Kelly Hall and husband, Martin, Chepstow, Wales; Brian Ballantine, Maryland; and Daniel Ballantine and wife, Katie, West Virginia.

Her life was enriched by their devotion and by the birth of her great-granddaughter, Grace Evelyn Cowan, and great-grandson, Caden Matthew Moher. She is also survived by a sister, Julia Swetter and husband, Bernie, Clifford; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Helen and Anne Hoholick; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son who died at birth; three brothers, Joseph, Sam, Basil and Steve Hoholick; and sister, Helen Dovin.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
