Mrs. Calais was born Wednesday, January 20, 1954 in Delhi, LA and was a long-time resident of Milton. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-Lafayette Ward in Lafayette.
Carla was an avid LSU fan. She most loved her family and adored animals. Carla will be remembered and deeply missed as a devoted wife and a loving mother, sister, and friend.
Mrs. Calais is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Paul Calais of Milton, LA; her precious daughter Casey Lauren Calais, also of Milton; two brothers, James Wood and his wife Lisa of Delhi, LA and Steve Wood and his wife Sonya of Aiken, SC; and her beloved pet dog Crystal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late James R. Wood of Camden, AR and the former Eunice Cromwell of Tallulah, LA.
A wake will be held at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A viewing will precede services Monday morning, August 10, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lafayette.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Guidry, Shane Guidry, Jude Guidry, Michael Guidry, Ron Robertson and Tim Calais.
