John Teapole [spelled "Tepole" (on John's Headstone) or "Teepole" (on John's Will)] was born in Pennsylvania on February 17, 1818.

John's father was Godfrey Tepowl or spelled: De Boll, Debold, Debolt, Theobald or Tepold; and his mother was named Elizabeth. John had a sister, Margaret Teapole.


John Teapole married Sarah "Sally" Dobson (born abt. 1814 and died abt. 1898), daughter of William and Barbara Dobson.

Sarah survived John and never remarried.


In, 1877, John Teapole died in the city of Marshall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and was buried at Cranberry Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, in the same cemetery, where his wife's parents were buried.


In the 1880 U.S. Census, John's widow, Sarah Dobson Teapole, was living with her oldest son, Morrison Teapole (1839-1882) and his family, in the city of Marshall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
