James F. Davidson, 83, of Springdale died Monday (May 17, 2004) at his home.

Born Oct. 30, 1920, in Brackenridge, he lived in Springdale since 1957.

A veteran, he served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Davidson was a foreman at PPG, Springdale, for 30 years before retiring.

He was a life member of the Springdale Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pioneer Hose Fire Company and American Legion in Brackenridge, and the New Kensington Moose, Lower Burrell.

Survivors include a son, James F. (Elissa) Davidson Jr. of Fawn; two daughters, Darlene Davidson of Cheswick and Mrs. Jamie (Carl) Straub of Shaler; and a sister, Dorothy Brewer of Arnold.

He also is survived by three grandchildren, Christofer Straub, Jennifer Rosenwald and Brittany Davidson, and a great-granddaughter, Emily M. Rosenwald.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine E. Davidson; and his parents, Floyd and Lillian Carney Davidson.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in SPRINGDALE at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Stewart Pollock will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, Harrison. Springdale Veterans Association will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
