Margaret Givens was the mother of Cynthia Lewis; George Jr. and twin, Georgia, Ethel, George II (no typo) Elizabeth, Dellas, Daisy "Bernice", and Betty Williams; and James, Anna, Yvonne, and Charles Anderson; and Donnell Givens. There are 10 children missing from this list, for a total of 25. Her children were birthed out of Three unions with Joe Lewis, George Williams Sr., and Jesse Anderson. I can tell that my grandmother was a very strong woman, she had to be to endure such loss. She spent most of her life bearing children that wouldn't outlive her. I have so much love and respect for her, and had it not been for Maggie I would have never started this journey of discovery about my family. I don't know much about my grandmother, but I'm learning more by the day. She died early and her children were split apart, and due to what she instilled in them, they managed to stay a family in spite of all the odds. Thank you Maggie for the wonderful lessons of love and sacrifice that you taught us, by your example.
