LUBBOCK - Graveside services for Douglas "Doug" Chapman, 87, of Abernathy, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Abernathy Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Currie officiating.

Cremation arrangements are by Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Chapman died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, in the Lutheran Home of West Texas.

Her was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Godley. He moved to Abernathy in 1933 from Amarillo.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He was a Methodist.

In 1938, he married Jennia V. Curry. She died Feb. 20, 1977.

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Davenport Harral of Abernathy; and one brother, W.B. Chapman of McKinney.
