Charles Taylor Neal, 56, of Amonate, Va., died Saturday morning, December 22, 1962 in a Richlands, Va. hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Born June 12, 1906 in Smyth County, Va., he was a son of the late John Neal and Rachel Ellen Evans.
He had been an employee of Pocahontas Feul Co. at Amonate for 28 years and was a member of UMWA Local 6633 at Amonate. He was also a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jessie Virginia Bise Neal in 1953, his mother, Rachel Ellen Evans Eller in 1949 and his step-father, Charlie Eller in 1960.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Arbutus Sutherland Neal; seven daughters, Mrs. Shirley Ann (Al) Givens of Manassas, Va. , Mrs. Linda (Stewart) Lewis of Alexandria, Va., Mrs. Loretta (Russell) Sutherland of Columbus, Oh., and Peggy Sue, Thelma, Irene, and Kathy Lynn Neal of Amonate.
Also surviving are seven sons, Charles Neal, Jr. of Baltimore, Md., James, Donald, Curtis, Cletis, Larry Roy, and Harold Neal all of Manassas, Va.; three half-brothers, Robert Eller of Bramwell, Walter Evans Pierce of Smyth County, Va and Raymond Neal of Freeman,; five half-sisters, Mrs. Lucille Eller Ollis of Pocahontas, Va., Mrs. Virginia Eller Davis of Wooster, Oh., and Mrs. May Eller Dunford of Marion, Va. , Mrs. Blanche Neal Miller of Freeman and Geneveed Neal address unknown.
The body will remain at Hurst Scott Funeral Home in Richlands pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Burial was in Greenhills Memorial Gardens in Claypool Hills, Va.
