Funeral Services for Mrs. Knipp Held at McColley Chapel Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Lillian Knipp were held Monday afternoon at the McColley Chapel. Mrs. Knipp died last Thursday at a Sturgis, S.D. hospital. She was 57.
The Rev. E. A. Cook of the Southern Baptist Church conducted the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. David Crum, soloist, and Mrs. George Olmsted, organist.
Casket beareres were Virgil Finn, Lloyd Palmour, Clarence Cotton, Robert and Glen Kuemmerle and C. M. McLeland. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery with graveside rites by VFW auxiliary No. 2516. The McColley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Knipp was born Marie Lillian Lang, daughter of Carl and Julia Lang, at Clintonville, Wis., on May 20, 1902. She worked in several factories during World War I. On May 3, 1930, she was married to John Claude Knipp at Minneapolis, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Knipp moved to Wyoming and settled on the old Frank Clark place and later moved to the ranch now owned by Bill Cummings, where they lived until 1953, at which time they moved to Newcastle.
Mrs. Knipp was baptized into the Newcastle Southern Baptist Church on Aug. 3, 1958 and was a member of the VFW auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her husband and a son, Richard, of Osage and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mamie Lambert of Manitowoc, Wis., and Laura Murphy of Neenah, Wis., and one brother, Arnold, also of Manitowoc.
