Tossey was brought in the veterinary emergency clinic one night by a nice lady who was driving behind a pickup truck and watched as the passenger door opened and this dog was thrown out. She was about a year old. The lady tried for 2 hours before finally being able to catch her. She brought her into the after hours ER because she did not know where else to take her. The first time I saw Tossey she was hiding under the chair in the exam room. I named her Tossey that day, for being "tossed" out.
Those people had no idea what they were throwing out of that truck! She has been the most amazing dog and I will never have another one like her.
This dog was so smart and the most routine-oriented animal I have ever known. She knew what all the cues meant, or she could just read our minds, one or the other.
After coming home from a hard day, she would just lay down quietly with you, giving you the most comforting companionship letting you know it was all OK. She was always a great companion!
She never cared for other dogs. Her only concern has always been people. She has always been so eager to please. She has been with us for 15 years and I can't imagine life without her.
This is all I can write for now.
