FUNERALS
Ward Elwood
Funeral services for Ward Elwood were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Adventist Church by Elder Wilcox of Missoula. The church was filled by the many sorrowing friends and there were many beautiful flowers banked about the casket. During the services a mixed quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Hoyt and Dr. and Mrs. W. Hodgkins sang two selections, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Iva Magnussen.
Friends acting as pallbearers were O. B. Stephens, Mayo Shultz, Elling Lee, G. H. Conrad, R. A. Freer, and Guy Hoylman. interment was made in Conrad memorial cemetery under the direction of Waggener & Campbell.
OBITUARY
Ward Elwood was born February 2, 1875 (sic), in Iowa where he grew to manhood. He was married March 3, 1901, at Oxford, Missouri, and soon moved to Wisconsin, where the family remained until 1914. They then moved to Outlook, Montana, and came to Kalispell in 1921 where Mr. Elwood had been engaged in saw mill and well drilling work. He passed away suddenly November 19, 1935, at the age of 60 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mayme Elwood, and two daughters, Mrs. Bernice King and Mrs. Beryl McClarty, all of Kalispell; one sister, Mrs. May Locke of Colville, Washington; and two brothers, Robert Elwood of Everett, Washington, and Frank Elwood of Elma, Iowa.
