The Wyoming Journal (Iowa), 11 Jan 1877, Page 3.
Died, at Wyoming, January 1st, 1877, of Heart Disease, Mrs. Kinsey Elwood. Mrs. E. was born in Ohio in the year 1835. She sought the Saviour and united with the Church at the age of 14. Was united in marriage to her now bereaved husband in the year 1852. She was the mother of a large family of happy children, three of whom went before to the home of the blessed. In the death of Sister E. the church suffers a severe loss, her many friends will long mourn her sudden departure; the ministers of the Gospel will greatly miss her, for in her they found a true and generous friend. A few days before her decease, she said to the writer, the preachers had always made her house their home, and they would be always welcome. May great grace be given her sorrowing husband, to whom she was a true help mate, and the dear children left without a mother's watchful care and cherishing love. She has gone to the Lord that redeemed her. May we be also ready, for we know not the hour when our Lord will come.
