Barbara J. Penrod, 69, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wichita Falls and a member of the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Penrod is survived by her husband, Gene Penrod; daughter, Susan White and husband, Eddie; son, Michael G. Penrod, all of Wichita Falls. Brothers, John Cox of New Orleans and Sid Cox of San Antonio. Grandchildren, Missy White and Blaire White. Also included are numerous nieces and nephews and her "adopted" sister, Judy Puckett of Arlington, Texas. Mrs. Penrod was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Avon Cox and sisters, Betty Rines and Ina Chambers. Barbara was a devoted mother and a loving grandmother; her family was her life's passion. She was a truly special woman who touched the hearts of all she met and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with Pastor Todd Derbyshire officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Services have been entrusted to Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
