Anna was born in Ingaberga, Kristianstad, Sweden. She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in July 1854 and immigrated to the United States in 1857 in the same company with the O.N. Liljenquist and Anderson families. She assisted Mrs. Liljenquist with her four young children.
Anna became the second wife of Gustave Anderson on March 22, 1858 in Salt Lake City, Utah. No children were born to this union. However, Gustave's third wife, Maren Haraldsen would have needed her help as Maren gave birth to six children in twelve years and then died on the day the sixth child was born.
Anna lived 80 years.
