Mrs. Hovey, 61, died Thursday evening, September 16, 1954, at Placid Memorial Hospital. Born at Jay, New York, February 20, 1893, the daughter of Arthur and Bridget Hurley Devlin, she had lived in Jay for many years and at Lake Placid approximately 35 years.
She Was survived by her husband, William E. Hovey, sr.; a son, William E. Hovey, jr., of Lake Placid; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Steaks of San Antonio, Texas, and Mrs. Henry Brown of Mineola, Long Island, and three brothers, J. Vernon Devlin and Hurley Devlin, both of Lake Placid, and Mark Devlin of Jay.
