Canajoharie, Fred J. Folmsbee, 81, of Flat Creek, died Saturday night after a one-year illness. He was born November 24, 1879, in Flat Creek, son of Alonzo and Paige Folmsbee and Evaline Folmsbee. He operated the Flat Creek General Store for many years before his illness. Mr. Folmsbee was a member of the Rural Grove Odd Fellows Lodge. Besides his wife, Mrs. Clara Wessell Folmsbee, he leaves two sons, Ellsworth Folmsbee of Ilion; and Everett Folmsbee of Flat Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Seward Hawyer of Ames; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be a 2 Wednesday from the Houghtaling Funeral Home with the Rev. Merwin VanDoornik, pastor of the Currytown and Sprakers Reformed Churches, officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.
