Katherine Sibley Behrman, 74 years old and a resident of Springfield, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born on Thursday, May 17, 1934, in Gonzales, daughter of the late Rev. P.W. Sr. and Lena Owens Sibley. Mrs. Behrman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hammond. She was a previous employee of Reimer-Snyder and John Batson LLC Lumber Co. for 56 years. Surviving are her husband, Douglas Behrman; stepson, Jeff Behrman; two stepdaughters, Toni Noble and Beth Doyle; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Gloria S. Morel; four brothers, Pleasant W. Sibley Jr., Howard K. "Red" Sibley, Glenn R. Sibley and Ralph C. Sibley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the First United Methodist Church in Hammond on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from noon until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. William Eubanks. Interment will follow in the Sibley Cemetery, Satsuma. Mrs. Behrman was a loving and caring woman who will be missed by all her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston.
