Early Life: Cless was born October 8, 1930, in Logan Utah, the first of eight children born to Arthur Vernon Hinckley and Zelda Spackman Bodily Hinckley. Cless was raised in Fairview, Idaho, attending Preston High School.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Cless graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in agronomy. He played baseball in high school, college and professionally for the Red Sox organization. Sports were always an important part of his life. He followed all BYU sports, enjoyed knowing all the new rosters at local high schools, attended numerous state tournaments, and loved watching his granddaughter, Katie, play softball. Cless was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent many of his retirement years volunteering at the Provo MTC and at various BYU sporting events as well as holding many church callings. He was a veteran of the Korean War and then had a long career in electronics manufacturing before retiring to Provo, Utah. Vernon Cless Hinckley passed away June 2, 2017, in Murray, Utah, after a long illness. He was 86.
Survived By: His children: Deanne (Mark) Tanner, West Bountiful; Todd Hinckley, Logan; and Shawn Hinckley, Provo; grandchildren: Grady Tanner (serving a mission in Lima, Peru); Katie Tanner, Ashlyn Hinckley and Scott Hinckley; siblings: Raquel Buhler, Stephen Hinckley, Linda Scott, Arlene Turner and Leanne Allen.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; sister, Karen Campbell; and brother, Merek Hinckley.
