Robert Frederick Loft (Age 79) Passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2007. He was born November 16, 1927 in Cottonwood, Idaho to Dr. William and Gladys Loft. Bob married Leorita (Rita) Perfetti on June 12, 1954. He was a devoted husband of 52 years and a loving and caring father of fivechildren; Robert (Janice) Loft II, Christine (Steve) Alexander, Julie (David) Finney, Michael Loft and Stephanie (Matt) Manke. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Robert III, Alicia, Ryan Scott, Scotty, Michael, Stephanie, and Ryan Mathew; as well as two great-grandchildren, Robbie IV and Audrey Anne. He is also survived by his sister Lois Hoffman; his brother Bill Loft; sisters-in-law Donna Perfetti and Janice Loft; and brother-in-law Vern Uptmor. Upon graduation from St. Gertrudes Academy, Bob served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Gonzaga University, (class of 1951). Bob started his career as an accountant with Columbia Gypsum Company, later managed Greenacres Gypsum and was a co-founding partner and first president of Greenacres Gypsum and Lime Ltd. He worked part time as a tax consultant for H&R Block for 15 years as well. Health issues lead to a premature retirement at age 58. Bob was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish for 51 years. He served the parish as president of the school board, member of parish finance and hospitality committees. He was active in Boy Scout leadership and was a member of the Elks andEagles Lodges. He was an avid reader andenjoyed debating politics. He had a love forgardening, traveling, singing and dancing. He especially loved supporting his grandchildren at sporting events, plays and dance recitals. He was a loyal fan of Gonzaga Prep and Gonzaga U basketball. His knowledge and talents contributed successfully to all projects he endeavored. Bob's integrity, generosity, unconditional love and great storytelling will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wishes toexpress their gratitude to Dr. Kwasman and his staff for the years of devoted care. Visitation will be Thursday, February 22nd from 12-5pm and Friday, February 23rd from 9-5pm at thefuneral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 24th, 2007 at 11am and will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4420 N. Jefferson, Spokane. Committal will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Monday, February 26th at 11am. Memorial contributions are suggested to Poor Claire Nuns, 4419 N.
