Charles Curtis Beckett, 81 of Buffalo went to be with the lord on June 8, 2017 after a brief illness. Born April 3, 1936 in Peach Creek, WV he was the first of eleven children to the late Thomas and Brookie Dillon Beckett. He was a man of many trades who worked his whole life to support his family. Curt was an energetic and vibrant man who helped many people during his life. He will be greatly missed. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and “Pap” to those who adored him. He loved, cared and provided for his family and friends while living his life to the fullest until he gained his wings and departed this life.

He was preceded in death by his baby boy Beckett; sister, Roxy Beckett Cox and her husband Melvin “Moe” Cox; brother, Ralph Allen Beckett; in law’s, Ralph Damron , “Big” Jim Sanders, Forest and Angie Whitt Skinner.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Fonda Skinner Beckett; daughter, Susan Beckett Erwin; granddaughter, Cassy Erwin; grandson Charles Andrew “Andy” Erwin; sisters, Lavada (Benny) Fitzpatrick, Dora Lee “Doe” Damron, Betty (John) Reed, Reva Kaye (Jeff) Wallace and Karen “Suebug” Bowen; brothers, Johnny (Mary) Beckett, Tommy (Patsy) Beckett, Roy (Kathy) Beckett; adopted granddaughter, Rikki Hesson; adopted grandsons, Trevor McGuire and Josh Stafford; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Special Olympics of Putnam County, 19879 Buffalo Road, Buffalo WV 25033.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, June 10, 2017 at Mt. Union United Methodist Church, Pliny with Pastor Roger Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowcott Cemetery at Mt. Union Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Saturday at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo.
