Granddaughter of Captain Henry Shoemaker of Revolutionary War Time

Mrs. Georgianna Shoemaker Stark, 76, widow of D. Scott Stark, a well known and highly esteemed resident of Plains, died suddenly at her home, 410 North Main street, Plains, yesterday afternoon at 12:15 o'clock.
Mrs. Stark was born at Shoemaker, Monroe county, and had resided in Plains for forty years. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Stark Shoemaker, granddaughter of Joseph and Mary Michael Stark and great-granddaughter of Captain Henry Shoemaker of Revolutionary war fame. She was a devout member of the Plains Presbyterian church.
She was active both in church and civic affairs and was a member of Wyoming Valley Chapter Daughters of American Revolution, Woman's club of this city and Wyoming Monument association.
Surviving are the following sisters: Mrs. G. W. Snyder, of Delaware Water Gap; Mrs. W. T. Verbeck, of New York; a brother, Charles J. Shoemaker of this city, and nephew, Mark F. Shoemaker of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at the home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. George F. Scheese will officiate and interment will be in Hollenback cemetery.
