Dixie C. Thomas, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Waterford Health Campus. She was born June 22, 1930, in Carrollton, Kentucky, the daughter of Charles Johnston and Sylvia (née Coghill) Boswell.
In 1948, she graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. She retired as a Senior Financial Analyst from Chrysler Corporation after more than 30 years of service. She was a founding member of the Delco Ballroom Dance Club in 1966, along with her husband Richard E. Thomas. She was also a founding member of the Women Investing for Self-Education (W.I.S.E.). Dixie was an avid bridge player and enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include a daughter, Taunee Boudreau and husband Rick of Kokomo; son, Richard L. Thomas and wife Cindy (née Springer) of Kokomo; daughter, Lisa Thomas of Indianapolis; grandson, Louis Boudreau of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Maggie (née Thomas) Rawls and husband Brad of Lafayette; and three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Liam, and Owen Rawls, all of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Hubert Johnston, and a sister, Jennetta Williams.
