"Joseph J. Bourcier, Sr., a resident of Saginaw for 55 years and a pioneer lumberman here, died early Saturday at his home, 804 N. Webster Street, after a long illness. Age 79 years. He was born in Chateauguay, Canada, on June 13, 1857, and was married in Saginaw to Mary Harrau, who survives him. For 30 years Mr. Bourcier was an employee of Remer Bros. He was a member of St. Andrew's Church, and the St. Andrew's Holy Name Society. Surviving him beside his wife are seven children; U. S. Bourcier, of Flint; Joseph A.; Louis F.; and Maurice C. Bourcier; Mrs. Rae Moss; Mrs. Herman Lang; and Mrs. Laura Dembinsky, of Saginaw; and fourteen grandchildren.
The funeral will take place at 8:45 a.m. Monday from the Gossett & McIntyre Funeral Home, and at 9 a.m. from St. Andrew's Church. Rev. Fr. Timothy Kroboth will officiate, and burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery (Mt. Olivet is on the obituary). Friends may see Mr. Bourcier at the funeral home."
