Coranelli Connie Faris Beckett, age 88, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at Meadowbrook Care Center. She was a former resident of Town Square Apartments, in Blue Ash, Ohio, before moving to Meadowbrook. Born in Trinity, Kentucky, on December 9, 1923, Coranelli was the daughter of John Will Faris and Dixie Simpson Faris. She attended Tollesboro High School, Morehead State University and Miami University, of Oxford, Ohio. She became a teacher and taught 40 years, 10 years in Dover, Kentucky, and 30 years in the Cincinnati public schools. She taught at Doyle, Canaan and Dover Elementary Schools, in Kentucky, and several schools in the Cincinnati public school district.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas Gordon Beckett, who she married April 16, 1947; and her sisters, Minnie Mae Carr, Virginia Hayes and Kathryn Himes Hamm Childrey. She is survived by: two sisters, Garneda Goodwin, of Highland Heights, in Mason County, Kentucky, and Geraldine Heck, of Louisville, Kentucky; her “adopted” son, Harrison Collier, and his wife, Lucie; and “granddaughters” Sarah and Katie Collier.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, in Germantown, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends donate to the charity of their choice in Coranelli's honor.
