Grace McManus was born at Bradford, Illinois, on June 19, 1892. She was the daughter of John Code and Catherine Driscoll. She died at Alexandria, Virginia, where she was visiting one of her daughters, on June 8, 1973. Funeral services were held at St. John's Church in Bradford.
Grace was married to James P. McManus on November 23, 1920. They made their home at Toulon, Illinois. James died in 1935.
Grace was survived by two daughters, Margaret Clare (Norton), and Joan (Smith), a son, James, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Harry Harney, Julia Code, Mrs. Thomas Mowbray and Mrs. Everett Wilson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean, and a son, John; also by a sister, Clare Code.
