Afton Odekirk Stringham
  Afton Odekirk Stringham, 84, died May 25, 1979, in a St. George care center.
  Born Aug. 2, 1894, Vernal, to Heber Odekirk and Hannah Brown. Married William Sterling Stringham April 2, 1919, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 23, 1968. Lived most of her life in Vernal. Lived in Salt Lake City and California before moving to southern Utah 10 years ago. She resided in Ivins, Washington County, before moving to Vernal. Graduated from Uintah Academy in Vernal and St. Mary's of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City. Taught school for six years before she married. Was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Worked at Douglas Aircraft during WW II.
  Survivors: one son and two daughters, Mrs. Vern (Mary Katherine) Warburton, Milton-Freewater, Ore.; Mrs. Garth (Betty) Colton, Santa Clara, Washington County; and Ralph Gordon Stringham, Garden Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
  One grandchild, William Sterling Stringham II, preceded her in death.
  Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Ivins LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary Monday 8-9 p.m. and Tuesday at the ward chapel one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery, Wednesday at 10 a.m. under the direction of Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary.
