Andrew DeWitt McCONNELL was the son of Andrew Brindley (A.B.) McConnell (1819-1904) and Augusta S. Rogers McConnell (1826-1878). His parents were born in New York and in 1844 were married there before removing to their newly prepared farm near Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.
Andrew D. was born in Sangamon County in January 1864. On 9 October 1888, Andrew and Laura Ethel Newland (1866-1938) married in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas where they resided the rest of their lives.
Laura died 3 September 1941, in Little Rock and was buried in Oakland Cemetery (Oakland and Fraternal Historic Cemetery), Little Rock. Andrew died 2 September 1941.
