Lt.-Cdr. Montagu John Proby Armstrong was born on 7 November 1913 at Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He was the son of Jack Proby Armstrong and Maria Dominga Alvarenga Molina.1 He died on 14 December 1984 at age 71 at Guatemala City, Guatemala
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England He was educated at Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1942.
