Born in Thurman, Colorado on January 16, 1921. Parents: Tillis and Lydia (Stutzman) Ernst. He had four brothers: Chester & Hugh (both deceased), Dean & Stanley both of Colorado Springs; and four sisters Vergie Stutzman (deceased); Alva Unrau of Albany, Ore. ; Pearl Roten of Colorado Springs; and Alice Stutzman of Albany, Ore. In his late teens he moved to Colorado Springs with his family. In 1947 he married Roberta Beckler. He is survived by his wife and children: Ronald & Twila of Portland, Ore.; Roger of Portland, Ore.; Bernard & Cheryl of Sarasota, Fla.; Leonard & Grace of Colo. Springs, Col.; seven grandchildren (Aric Everson, Holly Everson, Brad Ernst, Michael Ernst, Christopher Ernst, Natalie Ernst, Kevin Ernst) and two great-grandchildren (Grant Everson, Haile Everson). Funeral: Dec. 18 at Beth-El Mennonite Church, Colorado Springs.
