2005 Issue 3
Anna Boehs
Annie Schmidt Boehs was born on February 2, 1913, to Samuel and Elizabeth Nichols Schmidt on a farm near Cement, Oklahoma. She peacefully passed away on January 1, 2005, at the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, Kansas, reaching the age of ninety-one years.
Mother answered the Lord's call, and Min. John A. Koehn baptized her into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on October 8, 1931.
On February 7, 1932, she was married to Pete J. Boehs at Chickasha, Oklahoma, officiated by Min. Andrew Nightingale. They were married for sixty-three and one-half years and were blessed with five sons and three daughters. They lived close to Fairview, Oklahoma, for about twenty-five years, and then they built a home near Ringwood, Oklahoma.
We remember Mother as pleasant and making many friends. She loved and was loved by her children and grandchildren. Because of her strong faith in God, she prayed much for her children's salvation.
We are thankful for the consecration Mother made before she entered the Moundridge Manor on December 19, 2001. The last wish she expressed was to go to heaven to be with her daughter, Vada.
Left to cherish fond memories are Lydia Mae and Harold Dueck, Cartwright, Manitoba; Leroy and Darlene, Marvin and Rose, and Abe and Bernice, Ringwood, Oklahoma; Leonard Friesen, Honey Grove, Texas; Velma and John Friesen, Elma, Manitoba; Edward and Ruth, and Harvey and Loretta, both of
Louisville, Georgia. She has thirty-eight grandchildren, sixty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Her parents, her husband, seven brothers, five sisters, one daughter, one daughter-in-law, and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
The funeral was held at the Fairview Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Fairview, Oklahoma, on January 4, 2005. Officiating ministers were Myron Nightingale, Leonard Koehn, and Randy Levings.
Interment was in the Cedar Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma.
