To the Memory of
James DOUGLAS, who died in the year 1780 aged 85 years
And also his daughter, Margaret,
who died Aug 20th 1782
aged 10 years, 7 weeks old
Erected by Mary MARTIN, his spouse,
and Samuel and William, his sons
Also here lies the corps of
Mary MARTIN, his spouse,
who died Jany 1st 1791 aged 67 years
Renewed by his grandson, James BROADFOOT, farmer, West Mains, 1800
Also the remains of
John, 3d son of Wm. BLACK, Newton Stewart,
and Janet DOUGLAS, daughter of the above James DOUGLAS and Mary MARTIN,
who died March 1813 in the 49th year of his age
And of the above William BLACK,
who died the 30th June 1826 aged 79 years
Also In Memory of
William, 2d son of the above William BLACK,
and Surgeon in the Royal Navy,
who died at sea the 6th,
and was interred in Malta the 9th August 1827
in the 36th year of his age
And to the Memory of
Janet DOUGLAS,
spouse of the above William BLACK,
Newton Stewart,
who died 19th Septr 1823 aged 76 years
