Mrs. Simmons died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Rehab Specialties Inn in Anderson.
Born Oct. 9, 1910, in Dallas, she moved to Shasta County in 1942 from Texas.
She was -- restaurant cook in Red Bluff, Anderson and Redding, and -- member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association of Redding and Cottonwood Senior Citizens.
Survivors include son Benny Meeks of Anderson; daughter Billie Clapper of Anderson; brothers Charlie, Maurice and Carl Tranthan, all of San Angelo, Texas; sister Tommy Burges of Port Orchard, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
