Visitation for Gladys Meeks Simmons, 94, of Redding will be from -- to -- p.m. Thursday at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding.

Services will be at -- p.m. Friday at the chapel.

The Rev. Tony Meeks, -- family member, will officiate.

Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.

Mrs. Simmons died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Rehab Specialties Inn in Anderson.

Born Oct. 9, 1910, in Dallas, she moved to Shasta County in 1942 from Texas.

She was -- restaurant cook in Red Bluff, Anderson and Redding, and -- member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association of Redding and Cottonwood Senior Citizens.

Survivors include son Benny Meeks of Anderson; daughter Billie Clapper of Anderson; brothers Charlie, Maurice and Carl Tranthan, all of San Angelo, Texas; sister Tommy Burges of Port Orchard, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
