Helen J. Lemberger, age 89, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
Helen was born on February 17, 1925 in Whitelaw to the late Louis and Frances Augustine Schamburek. On October 2, 1943, Helen married Alphonse Lemberger at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw. He preceded her death on January 6, 1993. Helen was employed at Brey’s Grocery Store and Worel Resale. She enjoyed volunteering for St. Vincent DePaul Society for nearly 20 years. Helen was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors include Helen’s four children: Jean (Richard) O’Laughlin, Tucson, AZ; Jerry (Sherry) Lemberger, Manitowoc; James (Meridee) Lemberger, Manitowoc; and Janice (Ken) Masty, Roseville, CA; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister: Rita Junk, Manitowoc; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Frances Schamburek; husband: Alphonse; son: John; grandson: Baby Masty; brother: “Stoney” Joe; and five sisters: Marie, Agnes, Esther, Gertrude, and Beatrice.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial taking place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m.
