Adell Standerford, our wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital of congestive heart failure at the age of 92. She was born April 21, 1917, in Pineville, AR, to Walter and Kee (Powell) Cantrell, one of ten children, which included two sets of twins. The family later moved to Oxford, AR, where she married Walter Seldon Standerford on May 11, 1935. They were blessed with 73 years of marriage before he passed away in May of 2008. Mom and dad alternated living between Arkansas and Washington, until happily settling in Wenatchee over 60 years ago. She worked in the fruit industry, sorting and packing apples for various warehouses, such as Cascadian Fruit Shippers. After retirement, mom and dad traveled throughout the United States in their RV and made annual visits to family in Arkansas. They enjoyed wintering in southern Texas for ten years. She loved to crochet, do puzzle books, watch the game show channel and Mariner's baseball games.
