Graduated from Conrad High School in 1949. Attended the University of Exeter, England, and Montana State University in Bozeman. Graduated from the University of Missoula in Missoula in 1954, received law degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D. C.

Served as deputy Pondera County attorney from 1974 to 1980, a onetime legal assistant to the Montana Supreme Court.

US Army veteran with both active service and army reserve duty.

Legal assistant to the Montana Supreme Court.

Elected Ponderat County Attorney in 1974, serving for 16 years. Also served as Law Clerk for the 9th Judicial District.

Law clerk and area vice president of the Montana Bar Association for the 9th Judicial District, vice president and president of the 9th Judicial District Bar Assoc. from 1981 to 1985.

Survived by his mother, a sister, an aunt, an uncle and numerous nieces and nephews.
