Nathaniel "Nate" Beauford, 73, of Asbury Park, New Jersey passed away on August 9, 2017. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina on June 30, 1944 to Hayward and Essie Beauford.

Nate attended school in Buist Elementary school in Charleston, South Carolina. His family moved to Neptune, New Jersey in 1953 and Nate completed his education in the Neptune School System. He graduated from Neptune High School in 1962 and was one of the school's star basketball players. Nate enjoyed all sports, however he excelled in basketball.

Nate served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1966. He later worked as a letter carrier in the United States Postal Service for twenty years and retired in 2009.

He is predeceased by his parents, Hayward and Essie Beauford. He is survived by his son, Casey Beauford; daughter, Saundra Wilson-Mitchell (Damian); grandchildren, Tyraad Wilson and Aiden Beauford; great grandchild, Braylen Wilson; sister, Mary Blue; nephew, Gerald Beauford (Vera); nieces, Patricia Capers (Comfort), April Beauford-Brinson (Irwin), Sandra Blue-Hollins (Greg); and a host of relatives and friends.
